All classes at Kellogg High School in must comply with the Idaho System for Educational Excellence. Our course descriptions are based on this and are as follows:
Art I (Beginning Art)
(from Course Description Handbook for Kellogg High School) Full year—one credit each semester Open to: 9-12 Prerequisites: None Description: This introductory class will focus on a variety of art experiences and art history using the elements of art and the principles of design. Various media will be explored including, but not limited to: drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics and printmaking. Students will learn the foundational language and processes of art-making Materials Cost: $5 per semester |
05154 Creative Art - Comprehensive (Gr. 9-12)
(from page 41 of the Idaho System of Educational Excellence (ISEE Assignment codes) Course provides students with the knowledge and opportunity to explore an art form and to create individual works of art. Career opportunities in the art world may also be discussed and explored. Initial courses cover the language, materials, and processes of a particular art form and the design elements and principles supporting a work of art. As students advance and become more adept, the instruction regarding the creative process becomes more refined, and students are encouraged to develop their own artistic styles. Although the focus of creative art courses is creation, the study of major artists, art movements, and styles may also be included. |
